The Golden Knights have added forward help ahead of the NHL trade deadline.
The Knights acquired right wing Ivan Barbashev from the St. Louis Blues on Sunday, according to TSN and Sportsnet. Details of the trade weren’t immediately available. Barbashev has 29 points in 59 games this season. He had a career-high 26 goals and 60 points a year ago.
The 27-year-old is a pending unrestricted free agent. He currently has a $2.25 million cap hit.
Barbashev will give the Knights more depth scoring with captain Mark Stone out indefinitely after undergoing back surgery. The team is tied for 17th in the NHL in goals per game since Stone’s injury.
