LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — Henderson police said a woman died after being hit by a car near Sunset Station Wednesday night.
According to police, on Jan. 17 at around 10:50 p.m., the Henderson Police and Fire Departments responded to Sunset Road near Sunset Station after a vehicle hit a pedestrian.
Police said a black Dodge sedan was driving east on Sunset Road when a 34-year-old woman walked into the travel lane, causing the sedan to hit her.
Medical personnel took the woman to a local hospital in critical condition where she later succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced dead.
According to police, the woman was walking outside of a marked crosswalk.
The driver of the Dodge remained on scene and was cooperative with investigators, police said. Impairment and speed are not considered factors in the incident.
The name of the victim will be released by the Clark County Coroner’s Office.
Henderson police said this collision is being investigated as the fifth accident-related fatality in 2024.
