LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — A suspect in a shooting that left a man dead has turned herself into Las Vegas authorities, police said Wednesday.
Shaleece Brown, 33, was identified as a suspect in the deadly shooting. According to Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department officials, Brown turned herself in to authorities. She faces charges of open murder, conspiracy to commit murder, child abuse of neglect, and residential burglary (first offense.)
According to police, dispatchers received a report on Jan. 17 of a shooting in the 1400 block of Helen Belle Drive near Washington Avenue and Lamb Boulevard. Responding officers found a man who had been shot in a home in the area. That man was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to detectives, evidence indicates there was a fight inside a home before the man was shot and killed. The suspects left the scene before officers arrived.
Brown is due to appear in court on Feb. 7.
