Program offers free tax assistance for Las Vegas residents

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — Chicanos Por La Causa (CPLC) Nevada will be hosting its free annual Volunteer Income Tax Assistance and Tax Counseling for the Elderly programs until April.

According to a release, the programs will be held every week Wednesday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and every second and third Saturday of the month until April 15.

The programs will be held at the CLPC office, located at 555 North Maryland Parkway, in the Downstairs Ed Room.

The release stated the programs will offer free tax help to those who make $60,000 or less, veterans, persons with disabilities, and limited English-speaking taxpayers. Additionally, resources and aid will be available for seniors who are over 60 years of age and older.

All volunteers who will prepare returns will take and pass tax law training that meets or exceeds IRS standards prior to the programs.
