LAS VEGAS (KLAS) – The Super Bowl isn’t the only thing the NFL is bringing to Las Vegas. They are also investing in the community, especially in education, and encouraging more kids to read.

NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell surprised about 150 children from the Boys and Girls Club with football swag and a book at the Clark County Library.

Goodell announced the league is partnering with 10 barbershops in Las Vegas to place books in their businesses. He hopes that gifting books will allow children the opportunity to read while they or their parents are waiting for a haircut.

Goodell also emphasized how important it is to build up communities and their future leaders.

“Reading is fundamental, imagine a different world. Reading is critically important for everything you do in life,” he said. “This is a chance for you to come in, and to have an opportunity for a door to be open for you to understand more about the world. For you to understand and imagine a different world.”

Microsoft also pledged $100,000 to the Clark County Library for hardware and software.
